JSP Announcement: New Editors-in-Chief

November 10, 2015

The University of Toronto Press is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Editors-in-Chief for the Journal of Scholarly Publishing, Alex Holzman and Robert Brown. JSP has benefited from a long line of talented, illustrious editors, including the most recent editor, Tom Radko, who leaves the position after thirteen years of dedicated service. Alex and Robert now join this group of respected professionals as the new editors-in-chief.

Alex Holzman comes to JSP from a long and accomplished career in scholarly publishing. He was the director of Temple University Press and president of the Association of American University Presses from 2008-2009. Alex also manages a scholarly communications consultant firm, Alex Publishing Solutions.

Robert Brown has a Ph.D. in English and has completed the Scholarly Publishing Program at Arizona State University. A published contributor to past issues of JSP , Robert also has lent his skills to the Journal of Neurosurgery and Science Editor, in addition to his freelance editorial work.
Both new editors are excited to begin their work on JSP and together will work to move forward the vision of this important publication.

We envision JSP as the forum of first choice for research and opinion in all forms of scholarly publishing, and we want to open this forum to all who have a stake in scholarly publishing. As the finished products of scholarship continue to take new forms,

JSP will be a place where all the actors and analysts involved in the dissemination of scholarship – authors, publishers, librarians, and administrators, to name a few – can discuss the many intellectual and financial issues and arguments that characterize the subject today. As scholarly publishing continues to grow on a global scale, JSP will bring the perspectives of those who publish outside North America to the attention of JSP’s readers. We welcome submissions from anyone whose research interest or professional experience informs the work of scholarly publishers.
Please join the University of Toronto Press in welcoming Alex Holzman and Robert Brown to their new roles with the Journal of Scholarly Publishing. In addition to welcoming our new editors, we would like to thank Tom Radko for his many years of excellent work, making JSP a platform for important voices and discussion in scholarly publishing.

The new editors can be reached at jsp@utpress.utoronto.ca
The Journal of Scholarly Publishing can be read online at JSP Online, which includes 27 volumes of the most recently published content, including book reviews, editorials as well some of the most important voices in scholarly publishing.
